The skeleton of the handle is made of a single block of AISI420C stainless steel, hardened before processing to obtain maximum precision. The “All Steel” mechanics make the sliding of the parts smooth and practically wear-free. The geometry of the blade, combined with the choice of Nitro X7 steel, transforms it into a resistant and versatile cutting edge. The aluminum scales, in addition to acting as an interface with the hand, are an integral part of the mechanism and contribute to the solidity of the system.
The story of Lockin’ Knife: an intuition born in a garage
“One evening I was in my workshop-garage, it was very late and I was cursing at a small friction folder that just didn’t want to work properly. In a moment of pause, staring at the knife, I asked myself:
Why in a folder must the blade necessarily always be shorter than the handle?
(This obligation, right there and then, did not sit well with me). At that moment, something flashed through my mind. I thought that, when you design a folder, everything develops around the pivot and that, if everyone always starts from that pivot, the folders will always close in the same way. So I took a piece of paper the size of a blade, I marked two centers, I put two pins and two other pieces of paper on it. From there a journey that lasted years began which, with a series of vicissitudes, led me and my team to create the Lockin’, the first roto-translating knife in the world.”

From that moment on, the history of Lockin’ Knife has been a succession of challenges and successes.
The first breakthrough came with the Artigenio award: a recognition for the ingenuity and creativity of a project born from passion and determination. Artigenio, promoted by Mercedes-Benz and Confartigianato, rewards makers with innovative projects “in the drawer”, offering them the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality.
Subsequently, the collaboration with Repiks arrived: a fundamental partnership that combined technological skills and entrepreneurial vision, transforming an idea into a functioning prototype. Repiks, an innovative technological start-up, supported Garbino in the 3D CAD design, 3D printing and creation of 3D renderings, bringing the system to patent.
Gariboldi’s intuition, combined with the collaboration with Repiks, led to the creation of the Lockin’ Revolution First Edition, a knife that made a name for itself for its unique design and exceptional performance.
But the story doesn’t end here. After the collaboration with a German manufacturer, Garbino and his team decided to take back the project and found Lockin’ Knife, the startup that today is ready to launch the Lockin’ Rebel, an even more performing and accessible knife.

Lockin’ Rebel: the knife that was missing
Lockin’ mechanism: large blade, compact size.
The heart of the Lockin’ Rebel is its patented roto-translation mechanism with four centers and five pins. This innovative system allows you to have a knife with a generous blade (180mm) in a contained space. Thanks to this mechanism, the blade can be longer than the handle, making the knife less bulky and contributing to a completely new aesthetic in the world of folding knives. But it’s not just a question of size and design: the Lockin’ mechanism guarantees remarkable strength and increased reliability, thanks to the multiple pins and the different bearing surfaces between the components. Last but not least, the displacement of the center of gravity to a more advanced position improves the feeling and control during use.
Blade: Nitro X7 steel for a cutting edge in step with the times.
The blade of the Lockin’ Rebel is made of Nitro X7 steel, a material recently developed by the Buderus company in the field of nitrogen steels that offers exceptional wear resistance and excellent edge retention. The heat treatment and the wide-radius hollow grinding give the blade resistance and high cutting capacity. The stonewashed finish limits reflections and encourages use without thinking about scratches.
Handle: high-strength aluminum, perfect ergonomics
The handle of the Lockin’ Rebel is made of high-strength aluminum with black anodization, a light and robust material, resistant to scratches and atmospheric agents. The particular geometry contributes to the structural integrity of the mechanism and ensures a secure and comfortable grip for the user. The ergonomic design of the handle adapts perfectly to the hand, ensuring optimal control of the knife in every process.
Safety: double locking system, absolute peace of mind

Why did you choose crowdfunding to finance your project?
We chose crowdfunding because we believe in the power of community and in the possibility of directly involving enthusiasts in our project. Furthermore, crowdfunding allows us to raise the funds necessary to start production without necessarily having to resort to traditional financing (banks, investors), maintaining creative control over the project and remaining faithful to our vision.
What happens if the campaign does not reach its funding goal?
If the campaign does not reach its goal of €175,000, the funds raised will be returned to supporters by Kickstarter and the project may be significantly delayed or, in the worst case, not realized. For this reason, your support is essential to make Lockin’ Rebel a reality!
When will I receive my Lockin' Rebel if I book it now?
Delivery times depend on the success of the campaign, production times, and the number of orders received. We will try to be as transparent as possible and provide regular updates on the progress of the project via the Kickstarter page and our social media channels.
What are the shipping options?
